Henk Jan Gerzee appointed new Chief Digital Officer of Schiphol

Henk Jan Gerzee (44) will be the new Chief Digital Officer (CDO) of Royal Schiphol Group. He will be focusing on further digital transformation and technological innovation at the airport. Gerzee succeeds Roy Scheerder, who held the position on an interim basis for the past six months.

Gerzee is currently Chief Digital Officer & CIO at Dorel Juvenile. Prior to that, he held various management positions at Elsevier and gained international experience in the aviation industry as a manager at KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. As Chief Digital Officer, Gerzee will have final responsibility for Amsterdam Airport Schiphol’s digital strategy.

Royal Schiphol Group President Jos Nijhuis: ‘Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is ambitious and aims to become the most digitally advanced airport in the world. As the impact of this transformation is quite significant, a strategic leader has been selected who can push this transformation through. Henk Jan Gerzee brings a great deal of experience and knowledge about digital transformation and technology to the table, and that fits perfectly with the progress we wish to make as a Digital Airport. We are confident that he will take Schiphol to the next level digitally.’

Gerzee will begin work in his new role on 1 February 2018.
