Schiphol wins Canadian award for best international airport

Amsterdam Airport Schiphol has been voted ‘Favourite International Airport 2016’ by Canadian travel agents. This is the twelfth time that the airport has won this prestigious award.

Over 4500 travel agents voted in the awards. Schiphol came out on top because of its famous ‘one-terminal’ concept, its efficient operations and the range of facilities on offer, such as the wide range of retail outlets and restaurants, helpfulness of the staff, Babycare Lounge and Holland Casino. The other nominees in the category were London Heathrow and the Hong Kong, Frankfurt and Las Vegas airports.

Marcel Lekkerkerk, Marketing Manager at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol: ‘We are delighted with this award which shows that we are highly regarded in Canada. From Schiphol, passengers can fly to no less than five Canadian cities: Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton. The fact that we have now won this award for the twelfth time makes it extra special: it's harder to stay at the top than to get there.’

The Baxter Travel Media annual Agents’ Choice Award is an initiative of Baxter Media, Canada’s largest and oldest publisher of travel media.
