120,000 Passengers to depart from Schiphol this weekend

Amsterdam Airport Schiphol expects to see 57,000 departing passengers pass through its doors this Saturday, with another 63,000 to follow on Sunday. The flight schedule for this weekend has been drawn up in consultation with airlines and travel organisations. As a result of this consultation, airlines have currently rescheduled the departures of six flights in total to Rotterdam The Hague Airport: two Corendon flights on Saturday and one on Sunday, one Transavia flight on Sunday, one TUI flight on Saturday and another on Sunday.

In addition, Schiphol will take additional measures this weekend. It will deploy additional staff, including office staff, and it has erected a canopy for those passengers who are forced to wait outside of the terminal building. Moreover, it will make every effort to keep waiting times as short as possible. Based on last weekend’s experience, Schiphol expects that the vast majority of passengers will make their flight.

It advises passengers to prepare for travel well in advance, for example by checking in online. Passengers with hand baggage only who have checked in online may pass straight on to Security Control. Finally, Schiphol advises passengers to follow the instructions of their airline. Please visit schiphol.nl/en/holiday for further tips.
