Birgit Otto appointed member Management Board Schiphol Group

Birgit Otto (50) has been appointed the new Executive Vice President & Chief Operations Officer of the Schiphol Group Management Board with effect from 1 September, 2014. She will be succeeding Ad Rutten, who has held this position since 2005 and will be retiring on this date.

Birgit Otto is currently the Director of Airport Operations and has been at Schiphol Group since 2001, having previously worked at Nedlloyd.

Since joining Schiphol in 1979, Ad Rutten has occupied various positions, including General Airside Manager and General Manager of the Terminal. From 1999 to 2005 he was Executive Vice President of KLM, where he was responsible for Ground Services and Engineering & Maintenance.

We feel her to be a worthy successor to Ad Rutten. As from 1 September, the Schiphol Group Management Board will consist of Jos Nijhuis (CEO), Els de Groot (CFO), Maarten de Groof (CCO) and Birgit Otto (COO).
