Elfrieke van Galen joins Royal Schiphol Group Supervisory Board

Elfrieke van Galen has joined the Supervisory Board of Royal Schiphol Group. Her appointment was confirmed at the shareholders’ meeting on 13 April. Van Galen was appointed as of 13 April 2021 for a period of four years.

Van Galen has extensive experience in the international aviation sector, commercial knowledge and a focus on sustainability. Her expertise and experience in the field of sustainability will be of great added value in realising Royal Schiphol Group’s ambitions. 

Van Galen is a partner at TheRockGroup, which she co-founded in 2010. TheRockGroup promotes the transition to a sustainable economy and society. It does so by developing and implementing sustainability strategies for organisations and businesses, by contributing to the development of sustainable enterprises and through education. In addition to her position at TheRockGroup, Van Galen is a member of the Supervisory Boards of GVB (chair), Meerlanden NV, SEKEM, Holding Maatschappij Zuid-Holland and Triodos Funds. 

Before founding TheRockGroup, Van Galen worked at KLM. She held various positions at the airline between 1986 and 2009, including Senior Vice President Corporate Social Responsibility, CEO KLM Cityhopper & KLM UK Ltd and Vice President KLM Cargo customer services.
