Esmé Valk set to become Chief People and Transformation Officer at Royal Schiphol Group
Esmé Valk, CHRO at Royal Schiphol Group, is set to become Chief People and Transformation Officer (CPTO). In addition to CEO Pieter van Oord and CFO Robert Carsouw, she will become the third statutory director of the airport group. Her priority will be to make Schiphol future-proof in the areas of people & organisation, sustainability and transformation. Besides the appointment of Esmé Valk, Schiphol is expanding its Executive Committee with Chief Procurement Officer Ron Fennema. Robert Carsouw has also been reappointed as CFO for his second four-year term.
Transformation of the airport is an important part of Schiphol's new strategic plan and part of Esmé's portfolio. This transformation includes sustainability, the tightness of the labour market, innovation and Schiphol's quality as a workplace. These elements are crucial to our future. Esmé has proven herself as a strategic, dedicated member of the executive team who looks beyond the boundaries of her own portfolio and who has a keen eye for people.
With great enthusiasm I am going to engage more broadly on important topics such as making our industry more sustainable, digitalisation, transformation and working conditions. We have a wonderful sector and together with all colleagues and partners, I am going to devote a lot of energy to getting us ready for the future.
We are adding the role of Chief Procurement Officer, filled by Ron Fennema, to the Executive Committee as it is instrumental for the successful and efficient management of contract forms and business models. Our approach is based on cooperation and quality purchasing.
