From Lounge 1 to the Panorama Restaurant: this is what ADE at Schiphol felt like
Music, views across Schiphol and DJs behind the decks: on Wednesday evening, the Panorama Restaurant provided the backdrop for a special event hosted by Schiphol and STMPD RCRDS. Competition winners and invited guests enjoyed performances by Julian Jordan, Brooks, Citadelle and Nova Blue, among others. The ADE atmosphere could already be felt at the airport earlier that day, when passengers in Lounge 1 unexpectedly found themselves in the middle of a pop-up silent disco featuring Justin Mylo.
The ADE festivities kicked off on Wednesday afternoon in Lounge 1, a waiting area for passengers travelling to Schengen destinations. There, Schiphol and STMPD RCRDS surprised passengers with a pop-up silent disco. Justin Mylo performed a surprise DJ set for passengers arriving, departing or waiting for their flights. For some, ADE did not start in Amsterdam, but right here at Schiphol.
I came to Amsterdam for ADE and especially to see Justin Mylo. I really didn’t expect to see him playing at a silent disco at Schiphol right after my flight. It was amazing. And then I got to go to the event in the evening as well. That made it complete.
What a fantastic event. We still have quite a bit of time before our flight, so for me this is just great. I enjoyed it so much that I even came back for another dance. My husband prefers to watch, but I love being on the dance floor.
A unique setting for an evening of dance music
Later that day, the Panorama Restaurant and adjoining Panorama Terrace provided the setting for the evening event, where Schiphol and STMPD RCRDS welcomed competition winners and invited guests. Citadelle, Nova Blue and Brooks took to the decks, while Julian Jordan opted for a particularly unusual setting: he performed his set inside the old aircraft on the Panorama Terrace.
I honestly had no idea what to expect, but the atmosphere was great from the start. With the music, the DJs and such an unusual location, it really felt like a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
I play in a lot of different places, but this is definitely one you won’t forget anytime soon. Normally, you come to Schiphol to fly somewhere, and now we’re all here partying together in an old aircraft. That’s just really cool. It’s such a unique place to play.
The evening then took another unexpected turn. Martin Garrix, a childhood friend of Julian Jordan, made a surprise appearance inside the aircraft. He stepped behind the decks and joined Jordan for an impromptu set.
For many visitors, Amsterdam starts at Schiphol
During ADE, music lovers from all over the world travel to Amsterdam. For many international visitors, that journey begins at Schiphol. Through its collaboration with STMPD RCRDS, Schiphol brought some of ADE’s energy to the airport, in places where passengers and visitors might not immediately expect to find it.
