New Freight Center opened at Rotterdam The Hague Airport Business Park

On Monday 3 December, the Freight Center at Rotterdam The Hague Airport Business Park was officially opened by André van den Berg, Director of Schiphol Real Estate. The new freight building contains 4,550 m2 of industrial space and 1,650 m2 of office space; there is also an outside area of over 5,000 m2. Tenants of the new building include logistics service provider Rhenus Logistics, Menzies Aviation, 4THPort, Spare Cargo and Schiphol Express.

TAPA

The Freight Center is TAPA (Transported Asset Protection Association) certified and thus satisfies the freight protection standard imposed on logistics companies and transporters of theft-prone freight.

Sustainability

The freight building is connected to a collective thermal storage system and thus satisfies the sustainability goals of Rotterdam The Hague Airport Business Park. The thermal storage system is a sustainable system for storing heat and cold in the ground. The buildings yet to be constructed on the surrounding lots will also be connected to this system.

The Freight Center, a multi-tenant freight building, was built by the Heembouw Group and designed by Habeon Architects. The building is a development and investment of Rotterdam Airport Vastgoed.

There is still space for lease in the Freight Center, including two warehouse spaces of roughly 145 m² and 1,250 m2. Office space of roughly 750 m2 is also still available.

Rotterdam The Hague Airport Business Park

Rotterdam The Hague Airport Business Park is being developed into a high-quality business park at the airport. To this end, investments are being made in infrastructure, green space and water and the office and business park is undergoing a phased development for lease and sale, hotels and other facilities. The master plan consists of small-scale office pavilions in the “Entrance area”, an office zone and commercial functions at the “Airport square”, space for other activities at the “Business cluster” and recreational services and facilities for general aviation as well as large hangars at "Airside". The urban development and visual quality plan has been drawn up by the reputable agencies EGM Architects and Paul van Beek Landschappen. Rotterdam The Hague Airport Business Park is being developed by Rotterdam Airport Vastgoed in collaboration with Rotterdam The Hague Airport, Schiphol Real Estate and partners.
