Passengers again vote Schiphol ‘Europe’s best airport’

Schiphol ranks among Top 3 airports worldwide

At the Skytrax World Airport Awards held at Passenger Terminal Expo in Geneva, passengers once again proclaimed Amsterdam Airport Schiphol Europe’s best airport, marking the second year running that Schiphol has received this prestigious award. Schiphol also climbed one spot to 3rd place on the ranking of the world’s top airports.

‘Passenger comfort and ensuring a travel process that’s efficient and reliable are priorities at Schiphol’, said Executive Vice President & CCO Maarten de Groof. ‘We are immensely proud that passengers have once again rated Schiphol the best airport in Europe. This award is a commendation not only of our airport, but also of our business partners, and particularly KLM.’

Passengers laud travel comfort

Passengers praised the convenience and efficiency of flight transfers at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, citing, among other things, the good self-service facilities that make the travel process easy and efficient. They also lauded the excellent quality and range of retail and catering facilities at Schiphol.

Top 5 airports worldwide

The ranking of Top 5 airports worldwide, in order, is: Singapore Changi Airport, Incheon International Airport (South Korea), Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, Hong Kong International Airport and Beijing Capital International Airport.

Skytrax

The World Airport Awards, also known in the travel industry as the Passenger’s Choice Awards, are considered the most significant benchmark for measuring the quality of airports worldwide. For the 2013 edition, Skytrax carried out a survey among more than 12 million passengers from over a hundred countries on the quality of 395 airports around the world. This independent survey has been conducted since 1999.

Skytrax is a London-based consultancy that conducts research into the quality of various aspects of civil aviation, such as airlines and airports.
