Passengers vote Schiphol Best Airport in Western Europe

During the 2014 World Airport Awards, held in Barcelona this year, air travellers voted Amsterdam Airport Schiphol the Best Airport in Western Europe. In the global ranking, Schiphol occupies fifth place.

'This is a wonderful reward for everything Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and the airlines have accomplished. But we're not planning to rest on our laurels. Developments are occurring at breakneck pace and the competition is growing stronger by the day. Schiphol Group is therefore pursuing a major programme of investments in the quality and capacity of our infrastructure, all to better serve our passengers. On average, that will amount to 1.5 million euros per day – across 2014, 2015 and 2016. This will enable us to stay one step ahead and continue building a strong, welcoming Mainport', says Executive Vice President & CCO Maarten de Groof.

Passengers continue to laud travel comfort

Schiphol is still a popular choice among European and intercontinental air travellers. This is thanks to factors including good self-service facilities and the range of high-quality services and amenities, both existing and new. Given the rapid growth in passenger numbers in recent years, this is no small feat.
