Polderbaan back in use

On Monday morning, 23 July, runway 18R-36L, known in Dutch as the Polderbaan, was back in use. The runway was out of commission last week to allow necessary maintenance work to be carried out on one of its taxiways.

Runway 18R-36L is often used because the air traffic using it causes the least nuisance to local residents. Since Amsterdam Airport Schiphol was aware that people living under the routes of the other runways would experience extra nuisance, it had the maintenance work on runway 18R-36L carried out as quickly as possible.
