Rolf Habben Jansen joins Royal Schiphol Group's Supervisory Board

Rolf Habben Jansen has joined the Supervisory Board of Royal Schiphol Group. Habben Jansen succeeds Mikael Olsson, who stepped down on 11 April 2023. Schiphol Group shareholders appointed Habben Jansen for a four-year term at the general meeting of shareholders on 9 April.

Rolf Habben Jansen has been CEO of Hapag-Lloyd AG, one of the world's largest container shipping companies, since 2014. Before becoming CEO of Hapag-Lloyd AG, he spent five years as the CEO of Damsco, at the time a shipping division of Maersk Group. Before that, logistics and transportation were the common thread in his career, with positions at DHL, Danzas AG and Royal Nedlloyd Group, among others.

The Supervisory Board nominated Habben Jansen because of his extensive experience as CEO of large international companies. His knowledge and experience in international shipping logistics is well aligned with the complexity of aviation in general and Schiphol in particular. There are also many similarities between shipping and aviation regarding sustainability, in terms of the pace of developments and the turnaround that these sectors need to achieve.
