Ron Fennema new Director Procurement & Contracting Schiphol

As of 1 December 2023, Ron Fennema is the new Director Procurement & Contracting at Royal Schiphol Group. Fennema succeeds Anne Hustinx, who is making the move to VodafoneZiggo. The Procurement & Contracting department is responsible for Schiphol’s procurement and contract management activities.

Schiphol wants efficient and transparent collaboration between the market participants conducting business with the airport. One of the Procurement & Contracting department’s important responsibilities is contributing to Schiphol’s top priorities. This means that in everything the department does, it pays close attention to, among other things, the quality of work at Schiphol and the quality of service for airlines and travellers.

CFO Robert Carsouw: ‘Over the past year, Ron has rapidly proven his added value for the airport. He has ample experience, including with companies operating at Schiphol. He is a connector, both internally and when it comes to other parties.’

Ron Fennema: ‘Part of what determines Schiphol’s success and a good journey for travellers is an efficient and transparent collaboration with our suppliers. The Procurement & Contracting department plays an important role in that. I am very much looking forward to fulfilling that role for Schiphol, together with the whole department.’

Fennema has worked for Schiphol for one year. He was part of the team that was responsible for getting the number of security officers back up to strength, creating a better experience for travellers and boosting Schiphol’s operational results.

Working for a diverse range of companies, Fennema gained extensive experience in logistics and procurement. Companies where he held executive positions include Van Gansewinkel, Total Safety, Vebego and Trigion.
