Schiphol App downloaded 300,000 times

Peak around the holiday period

The app launched by Amsterdam Airport Schiphol for iPhone and Android is a huge success: the Schiphol App has since been downloaded 300,000 times and since its launch, 19 million page views have been registered.

The holiday period saw a surge in the use of the app, as from 1 July more than 5.5 million pages were viewed via mobile platforms.

Schiphol launched this app in late 2010 as a way to further expand its service to passengers and visitors. The new application enables iPhone and Android mobile phone users to get personalised travel information, including flight information via ‘push notification’ (personalised updates and flight information) and details about airport facilities and activities.

Schiphol collaborated with M2Mobi to produce this app. The Schiphol App can be downloaded free of charge at popular App stores, for example at the airport itself using Amsterdam Airport Schiphol’s free Wifi network.
