Schiphol named cargo airport of the year

Summary

Amsterdam Airport Schiphol has won the ‘Cargo Airport of the year’ award of the Air Cargo Week World Air Cargo Awards. Schiphol won the award thanks to the voters of the global Air Cargo Community and the readers of Air Cargo Week. The airport was praised for the commitment to developing the cargo sector, outstanding facilities and the efficiency of the cargo operation in these trying times.

We are very proud to have received this award on behalf of Schiphol and the Cargo Community. Cargo transport occupies an important place within Schiphol, and this award is a recognition of our efforts in this area. It also underlines the importance of air cargo globally and, last year, the transport of much-needed vaccines and medical devices. This recognition will also help us continue our efforts to improve processes throughout the air cargo chain, of which digitalisation and therefore efficiency is a major part
Anne Marie van Hemert, Head of Aviation Business Development at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol

The biennial event, organised by Air Cargo Week, honours companies that lead the way in the entire supply chain. Schiphol received the most votes. The stability and the commitment to conceiving and implementing digital and innovative solutions together with chain parties was particularly appreciated. One example of this is the Smart Cargo Mainport Programme. This programme focuses on the continuous optimisation of air cargo processes, such as smart logistics, data exchange and innovations.
