Schiphol passengers served by Europe's best staff

Passengers passing through Amsterdam Airport Schiphol are served by the best airport staff in Europe. In recognition of this fact, yesterday Schiphol was awarded the Skytrax World Airport Award. The jury comprised nearly 14 million passengers, who completed an online survey to share their experiences of every aspect of their journey, from check-in to gate, at more than 500 airports.

André van den Berg, Schiphol's Chief Commercial Officer, took receipt of the award. Van den Berg: “I am so proud of everyone at Schiphol, including all the colleagues of all our partners. The quality of an airport is largely determined by the staff. They can really exceed the expectations of a traveler. For example, by kindness or personal help. Every day, the staff at Schiphol does their utmost to give passengers a positive journey experience. We have worked very hard over the last year and passengers have recognised this.”

Attitude, friendliness and efficiency
Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted: “It’s the combined quality of staff service -attitude, friendliness, efficiency- delivered across front-line positions at Schiphol Airport. It includes staff working for Customer Help / Info counters, Immigration and Security staff, shops, food & beverage outlets - in fact, all customer facing staff. We congratulate Amsterdam Schiphol Airport for their success in winning this important customer satisfaction award for 2018, the Staff Service awards being a very special honour for airports.”
