Schiphol voted best European airport by British business travellers for 25th time

British business travellers yesterday voted Amsterdam Airport Schiphol winner of the Business Traveller Award in the category of 'Best Airport in Europe' for the 25th time. With over 27 destinations and over 850 flights per week, Schiphol is connected to the United Kingdom like no other airport. Business travellers from the United Kingdom make up one of Main Port Schiphol's key target passenger groups.

Schiphol Group Vice President & CCO Maarten de Groof: "We're extremely proud to have been voted Europe's best airport for the 25th time by British business travellers. We welcomed a total of 7.7 million passengers from the United Kingdom over the course of 2013. Schiphol will be investing in quality and capacity over the coming years in order to maintain its position as Europe's Preferred Airport."

Schiphol constructs, converts and connects

In an effort to strengthen its competitive position and ensure that it can continue to offer its passengers and airlines a top-quality product, Schiphol will be making substantial infrastructural investments. This will involve an average daily investment of 1.5 million euros, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, for the duration of 2014, 2015 and 2016. This far-reaching renovation effort will increase capacity, allowing Schiphol to offer greater comfort with more spacious terminals and piers, and more smoothly coordinated passenger processes.

Business Traveller Award

The winners of the Business Traveller Awards are selected every year by the British readership of Business Traveller magazine. The magazine was launched in 1976 and has developed into an authoritative source of information and entertainment read by business travellers all over the world.
