Silence on Polderbaan Runway due to commemoration MH17
Today, 17 July 2024, marks the 10th anniversary of the Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 disaster. At the monument in Vijfhuizen, the private national memorial will take place and commemorate the disaster. At Schiphol, air traffic on the Polderbaan will be temporarily halted during the commemoration.
The Polderbaan is close to the monument where the commemoration will take place. During the ceremony, 2 minutes of silence will be observed in memory of the victims who lost their lives. To facilitate this, in consultation with the Stichting Nabestaanden MH17, it has been decided to halt air traffic on the Polderbaan between at least 15:15 and 15:30.
