Sustainable cooling and heating for Schiphol piers

Piers B, E and F already use Seasonal Thermal Energy Storage (STES), and now Pier G at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol also has an STES system. Thanks to the STES it has had installed, Schiphol uses significantly less gas to cool and heat the piers, which also means lower CO2 emissions. The reduction in CO2 emissions for Pier G is expected to be 84%.

Pier D to follow
The next pier at Schiphol to have STES installed will be Pier D. Increasing sustainability at Pier D should lead to savings of 500,000 m3 annually, three times the amount that will be saved at Pier G.

Installing STES will help achieve Schiphol's ambition to be climate-neutral by 2040.
