Extension of car park P1 at Schiphol off to a flying start

As of 1 October, parking at Schiphol will change to a large extent. For instance, the capacity of car park P1 will be increased by means of an extension next to the Hilton hotel. Within six weeks’ time, a steel structure has been erected there and prefab concrete floors have been installed. At the moment, a bridge is being added which will physically link the car park and the extension.

Construction is proceeding as scheduled, so that the extension will be delivered at the end of September. The parking duration will be limited to a maximum of 48 hours, as car park P1 will also be used for dropping people off or picking them up. Short Stop parking will no longer exist at this location. More information on the new style of parking.

Gearing up for the futureSchiphol is getting ready for the future. We are developing a new pier and a terminal, making adjustments to the railway station area, changing the landside infrastructure and refurbishing the parking facilities. We are doing this to cope with the increasing numbers of passengers and air transport movements. And, of course, to further develop our standing as a multimodal and ‘Preferred Airport’. The extension will be built by Ballast Nedam.
