Tony Chisnall appointed new Director of Schiphol’s Capital Programme

As from 19 November 2018, Tony Chisnall will be the new Director of the Capital Programme. The Capital Programme is responsible for managing the construction of the new pier, the new terminal and all related facilities and amenities.

Chisnall has previously served as programme director at Abu Dhabi Airports Company and commercial director and project director of London Heathrow Terminal 5. He succeeds Bernardo Gogna, who has decided to continue his career in Los Angeles for personal reasons.

New pier and terminal
The new pier and terminal are needed to offer higher-quality facilities to passengers and airlines. This new terminal is an expansion of the existing terminal and will be constructed as an extension to Departure and Arrival Hall 1, thus allowing Amsterdam Airport Schiphol to maintain the single-terminal concept with all facilities under one roof.

Capital Programme
Royal Schiphol Group is carrying out the construction of the new pier and terminal under the auspices of the project organisation known as the Capital Programme, which is able to coordinate and manage the various complex, large-scale projects in an optimal way. This is necessary as the airport must continue to operate as normal during the construction and renovation work. At the same time, the expansion requires specific knowledge and experience. Schiphol brings this expertise together in the Capital Programme.
