5.3 million passengers flew to, from or via Schiphol in March 2025. It is an increase of almost 2% compared to 2024. Most passengers flew to the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy and the United States. The number of flights to and from Schiphol was 38,873. That is an increase of almost 2% compared to 2024.
Amount of passengers
In March 2025, 5.3 million passengers flew to, from or via Schiphol. Almost 3.3 million departed from or arrived at Schiphol, and 2 million transferred at the airport. There were approximately one million transfer passengers, who are counted twice in accordance with the international counting method: once as an arriving passenger and once as a departing passenger.
Most popular destinations
Almost 3.8 million passengers arrived from or flew to a destination in Europe. 1.5 million passengers arrived from or flew to an intercontinental destination outside Europe. The United Kingdom was the most popular destination, followed by Spain, Italy and the United States.
Flights
The number of flights to and from Schiphol was 38,873 in March 2025. This is an increase of almost 2% compared to 2024. Of these flights, 31,492 went to European destinations and 7.380 to intercontinental destinations.
Cargo
The total transported air cargo volume was 131,645 tonnes, almost 4% lower than in March 2024. The amount of cargo transported on passenger flights increased by nearly 4% compared to March 2024. In total, 44% of the cargo was transported on passenger flights, and 56% on cargo flights. The number of cargo flights was 1,320 in March 2025, 3% fewer than in March 2024 (1,363).
